10 YEARS

10 years since one of the worst days of my life, I felt so abandoned and alone, the thing I could always fall back on was gone. So many of us felt almost betrayed by the band back then, the short goodbye felt so harsh and uncaring.

10 years later and I no longer feel like they abandoned us, we know now that if MCR had stayed, the members would likely have died. It was a choice between the death of the band and their own deaths, I’m thankful they killed the band.

10 years on and we’ve all healed, we’ve fixed our hearts, grown and changed in ways none of us could ever have predicted, and I love it. I love that I’m a different person now, I love that each of them is so much better now than they were a decade ago.

10 years has shown me that this band had to die, in order to be reborn into what it is today. The message of the band ‘stay alive, no matter what’ has never been so relevant. They’re all alive, they didn’t let anything kill them, even when it meant making drastic changes and facing the unknown completely alone, I’m so proud of all of them for it.

Whatever the future holds for My Chemical Romance, I’m going to be there. I mean this, forever. 🖤
